Contest 97: Imperial Assessment:

Mission 2 of 6 - Home World, a Caesar 3 Contest

Welcome to the contest pages for Contest 97: Home World. This is the second of 6 short missions of The Imperial Assessment. Each of the six missions will have a hard and easy winner, and a “league table” will be maintained with an overall hard and easy winner declared. This is a Caesar 3 contest, and should only be played with Caesar 3 V1.0.1.0. Use the links below to download the starting positions:

Home World (Hard Difficulty)
Home World (Easy Difficulty)
files are in .zip format

Macintosh players, for whom the procedure of installing contest files is a little more complicated, can find detailed instructions here. If you have any problems, please ask in the Forum.

Please take note that the CBC rules no longer allow free roads and material changes either. Players are expected to play the same difficulty throughout the six missions of The Imperial Assessment. A player may only play in a single difficulty.

Story

Now that you have completed the first of your assignments it is time to move on.

Your next assignment will determine your skill in housing construction, and in a way that you probably weren’t expecting.

You are now required to build a housing display village, with as many different levels of housing as you can manage. You have just three years in which to do it.

The size of your city, prosperity, culture and money are all completely irrelevant in this mission. I am looking for maximum diversity in housing.

Rules

Completion Criteria:
Save game in December 3 (last month of countdown) or earlier.

Winning Criteria:
1. Number of different housing types in city (maximum possible is 20, highest wins)
2. Highest level of housing in the city (will only be used if a tie for Criterion 1).
3. Number of occupants of highest level of housing in the city (only used if a tie for Criteria 1 and 2).

Normal Ancient Maps rules apply to this contest. Refer to the Imperial Assessment thread in the Ancient Maps forum for any additional rules and conditions specific to The Imperial Assessment.

Single tile (1x1) houses are not counted in any of the Winning Criteria.

Designer's Notes

This mission has a running time of 36 months only.

There are no invasions and no requests.

Easy difficulty gets more starting money and more rescue money.

Home World is a Caesar III contest map. It was designed by goonsquad and was tested by Chris85. In this series of contests the beta tester/s will be permitted to enter at Hard difficulty.

Have fun.

This contest will close at 11PM EST (US), on Sunday, October 29th. Please note the date!!!!

This contest has ended.
