Contest 83: Cubits of Death, (A Contest for Cleopatra)

To download the mission, simply click the appropriate link. The file you receive will be in a zipped format. After downloading, decompress the file (using, e.g. PowerArchiver or Winzip). You can get Winzip free from their website at www.winzip.com.

Please make sure you play the game from the start at the correct level of difficulty. Select Options, Difficulty and check it. If necessary adjust the difficulty, select new game and reselect the Pharaoh's Dream saved game. Now you can play.

The Story

The third inundation of Cleopatras reign was the worst on record, from records going back two thousand years a new low was reached, The Cubits of Death.

Cleopatra soon realised that there would be no harvest that year or for many years to come, in the normally fertile valleys of the Nile pestilence prevails, so she issued an edict demanding all grain harvested in Middle Egypt to be sent to Alexandria.

Any transgression of the edict was met by a swift and deadly punishment so if you fail to comply to a request then make sure that your army is ready to defend your city.

A second edict assured the populace of Middle Egypt that whilst intent on agriculture they would be exempt from taxation and military service will not be requested, but the whole kingdom had to be driven to grow in the most difficult way, by irrigation with no inundation.

Prosperity 50
Population 2500
Save in Dec 38BC and must not be in debt.

Winning Criteria:

Kingdom Rating.
In case of a draw second winning criteria: Stored wheat reported by Overseer of Commerce.
