Sierra/Impressions | Tilted Mill

Hard Times: Completion Criteria

In addition to completing the adventure, your city should meet the following additional criteria at the time of completion:

  • No labour shortages
  • No unrest in the city
  • All housing evolved to at least Hovel
  • 'Perfect' ratings for all Culture buildings
Any entries which do not meet these criteria will be void. A reproduction of the episode victory conditions follows:
  • Episode 1:
    • 24 slabs of marble for colony
    • 16 baskets of fish for colony
  • Episode 2:
    • Sanctuary to Hermes
    • Treasury of 5000
    • 20 suits of armour for parent city
  • Episode 3:
    • Support 40 horsemen
    • Support 2 triremes

Winning Criteria

  1. Speed (least time wins)
  2. Population in Townhouse or better
The second winning criterion is a tie-breaker in the event of the first not providing a clear winner. For example, the following three cities would be ranked in this order:
  1. 125 months, 620 people in Townhouse or better
  2. 125 months, 430 people in Townhouse or better
  3. 130 months, 1,050 people in Townhouse or better
City 3 has a slower completion time, so is placed last. City one beats city two on the population criterion. The Rules In addition to the general rules you need to obey, please abide by the following contest-specific rules:
  • The adventure consists of three episodes, two parent city episodes and a single colony episode. You must complete all three episodes in sequence.
  • When you complete the episode, choose to continue building the city, and then immediately save your city. This is the saved game you should submit.

General Advice

You are required to make an annual save in regular intervals. As a reminder, an increase in the price of grapes will occur each year. Since grapes are a non-tradeable commodity, this has no effect on gameplay.
